BMW spokesperson did say that the M3 was supposed to be faster than all the current M models. Now they didn't mention whether it's faster in a straight line or on the track but I'm sure those that read it believed in the former. Regardless, I saw an M6 cabriolet yesterday and it looked hot!! I wouldn't mind owning either the M3 or the M6.

now one thing i do know I saw a video with the m3 and the m5 on a twisty track and the new m3 beat the M5 by 4 seconds. Maby it was top gear im not sure I will try to find it.

I'd take the M6 over the new M3, but thats just me

First of all, "BMW" made the M6 WAY over-priced. The M6 is EXACTLY the M5 but with a carbon fiber roof, different styling and 2 less doors, yet BMW priced the M6 almost $20k more.

Further more, the M3 loaded up like the M5 minus HUD is over $70k. So, as you see, the M3 is NOT priced that much below a similarly optioned M5 and the M6 is simply WAY over-priced.
