What did you need to do the SMG swap on your car? Please list everything, and how much it actually cost to do it! Much appreciated!

yes, SMG was available on 2004 330's and 325's. After that they stopped ofering it. so only 4 door ZHP's can have SMG

SSG is the same as SMG I, SMG II is on the m3

you can downshift and upshift with both the left and right paddle

little less hardcore than the M3 SMG

hey russ...

how bad is this issue? can you describe when it slips, and if there is anything you can do (let off the gas) to get it to lock up.

can you gradually get on the gas, let the clutch engage, then hammer the gas and not slip? does 1st to 2nd gear slip too?

I believe someone mentioned in this or other thread you started.

SSG has nothing to do with the SMG I, II and III lineup. SMG I was first introduced in E36 M3 Evo. SMG II in E46 M3. SMG III in E60 M5, E63 M6.

SSG is made by Magneti-Marelli and was instroduced in non-M E46s around 2002 in Europe and around the world except US.

this issue is something that was bothering me for quiet a while, but after getting my car back from the dealer I was so happy that didn't give a dam about slipping (actually for some reason it there was no slipping for a couple of days)
letting of the gas does help, but waiting for the clutch to lock up is annoying.

I think the problem lies either with the clutch unable to deal with the larger power or the SMG hydraulics just are unreliable...
Jersey will you be S/Cing your car?

Hi RUS
could you remove the problem completely? do you have the performance UUC Organic - street and occassional track clutch?
