I have a question about gyro's. I saw a lot of places selling them when I was in NY and I tasted a few. I came to the conclusion that it tasted somewhat like spam and the consistency was the same as spam or meatloaf. I thought it was real meat but it looks and tasted like processed meat. Is that true gyros or did I just go to the wrong places? I think I tried 3 different places then I just gave up.

and everyone , you guys have it wrong. The best pizzas are in Brooklyn. Bensonhurst, Fort Greene, Park Slope. NYC is overpriced and not that good. The last time I had good NYC pizza was at 2 Boots, but it was about 7 years ago, and I can't say how it is now. Last edited by ///A; 09-29-2008 at 03:26 PM. |

Maybe processed lamb meat?
I really felt like I was eating something processed and not real meat. It wasn't that bad but I was expecting more.

I don't disagree with you there. Shanghai Cafe does taste better than Joe's Shanghai. Best thing about Shanghai Cafe is that its never extremely packed and you don't have to share your table with random people, unlike Joe's Shanghai. Plus, I didn't want anyone else to know about Shanghai Cafe...thanks for letting everyone know. J/k. Haha.

I'd just like to point out that grown men debating where to get the best cupcakes is the gayest thing I've ever seen.
Edit: Even when they pretend they are asking because they plan to hit the city "with the girl" |
