Installing Headers on an XI

So I've been searching on installing my headers on my Xi and I just wanted to make sure I know what im getting into...

"from what I recall..the Fornt end of an Xi has a reinforced front subframe that would necessitate removal inorder to get to the exhaust manifold

"just a friendly reminder for the XI;if you plan on installing headers yourself, you'll end up having to remove the front axles"

"This is a lie.... I installed headers on my XI. All you have to remove is the subframe brace and the passenger-side motor mount."

So yeh, if anyone has any words of wisdom before I put these on, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I have headers on my XI, and this is how it went down during the phone convo with the shop manager:

manager: we will have to charge you about an hour extra labor

me: for what?

manager: I didn't know this was an XI, so we have to remove the front axle to slide in the headers. you can come into the shop and take a look before we start the work.

me: no, I trust you (i was 1hr away at school).

install was $450

I'm no mechanic, but trust the manager that he knows what he's doing.

OK, I see you're from brooklyn, what shop did you do it at?

thats a good estimate. I went over to just the basic midas. and they were like 700 : /

i think im gonna end up doing it myself... and ill make DIY. probably not soon though haha.

I actually did it at a place on long island. it's called K&S Auto and its in Syosset, NY. The owner was a a racer for Porsche back in the day

Yeah ///A has ebay headers and a rogue ikon with the secondary resonator deleted. He has a gruppeM intake as well
