Want to lower from Stock Suspension

I'm looking through this forum as I'm tired of seeing the gaps in my wheel wells thanks to the stock suspension.

What I'd like to know is, what do I really need to get a decent drop for the front and mild drop for the rear? Do I just need new springs? (Looked at H&R) Or do I need the full suspension kit? Also, if I just do springs, am I going to bottom out everywhere or will it sacrifice the ride quality? I'm curious because my car rides get now on the stock 16"s, but next spring I'll be going to 18"s and would like to have similar comfort with ride.

Thanks for the advice!

You could just do springs, but your shocks will prematurely wear out. You could get a matching spring/shock combo like the H&R Cup Kit. Coilovers have a more aggressive drop and can be adjusted both height and ride quality (not all but most).

I would suggest getting some coilovers. Look into the Bilstein PSS, DDM coilovers, KW coilovers mine.

if your on a budget go with H&R race springs...it will probably be the lowest and nicest drop you can get without spending a lot of cash...the best part is when you need to do a suspension upgrade all you need to order is the shocks because you would already have the springs.

Thanks for the responses.

I'd like to go with the springs first as I want to do some other modding and don't have the extra cash for the shocks. However, how fast will it accelerate the shocks from wearing out? I only ask because my ride already has 86K miles.
