Intakes..

Well.. I'm thinking of buying a new intake for my E36 M3 3.0 but i have some doubts..

I currently have a Green Twister filter with air duct but i fell in love with the GruppeM carbon fiber intake. My doubt is..

What are the gains with de GM Intake?

What's the major diferences between GM Intake and de "replica" for sale on Modbargains?

What are the gains with the replica?

I'm very tempted to buy the one on Modbargains, coz the money diference is huuuge, and i'd buy something else with the diference.

Thanks for any help my friends!

Sorry to use our post but I have a quick question, how bad are intakes for the car? In terms of for the MAF sensor and for letting in dirt into the engine?

Well i believe that the intake does not arm the MAF because the air filter is before de MAF, so no dirt goes into the engine!

I would go with the replica honestly. It's produced by Simota and is top notch in terms of quality, fit and finish. You will get the same gains and sounds as the GruppeM but for a fraction of the cost. We have carried the Simota E46 M3 Ram Style Air Intake for quite some time now and have been thoroughly happy with both customer feedback and our own experience.

I'm not sure about the E36 market, but from a lot of posts provided with results, a drop in filter in the E46 M3 filter proves similar results to a whole aftermarket intake system. I don't know if you would get the results in an E36. Might be a better question to post over at M3Forum.net

Maybe some previous E36 M owners might chime in.
