Headers
Sorry if there are millions of posts about this, just looking for a friendly quick answer.
I want headers for my E46 M3 and I heard the ebay headers really get the job done. There are many of them on ebay and I dont know which the right one is, they range from $80-$900 Please provide me with a link to the best one (most hp/tq gain) My budget is anywhere under 400$ shipped Thanks! |

The cats are in the headers. You can remove both the resonator ("muffler after the cat") and the headers without throwing codes.

Spend some time searching around here and you will find that a lot of people do throw codes because of their headers, with or without relocated cats. Some people luck out and don't throw codes and some people just reset them when they appear. The more I hear from people with headers, the more I realize that throwing codes is more common than people seem to think.
As for the OP, since you are in CA, I would think twice before adding headers.

I would say so... throwing codes.. will lower your mpg.. It would be great if you could reprogram computer to delete cat sensors.
I get codes just for having intake.. it goes and come.. not to bad.. but when i throw a code i loose.. .4 mpg from 28mpg to 27.6mpg. |
