General rule is as far apart as the distance to the seat. In other words, 10 ft apart if you set 10 ft from the TV. When this is not possible, angle the speakers. Of course bouncing off walls is not good either so EQ and level controls come into play.

Don't see to many fireplaces in Florida! Do you offer any of your customers motorized window treatments?

We offer Lutron but its so expensive for the average person, that it does not sell much. The fact is, most either have a dedicated theater without windows or dont want to spend the money on living room.

Thanks. Something seems to get changed every few months.

Just replaced Sherbourn preamp with Marantz SR7002.

Moved the three PVRs and hard drives, the DVD writer, and the Vudu to my office closet.

This removed silver from the top of rack. Added Xbox and PS3 to the rack.

I also just ordered a silver face plate for my power amp (bottom of rack) to match the color scheme.

I just received my Polk LSi bipole in ceiling speakers for my two sides (7.1).

My Ride: is gone...
Here's a quick general question for all with any input:

From what I've read (and using a little logic), center of the tv is supposed to be approximately eye level, maybe a little above. If that's true, then why are so many of the tv stands like 19" tall (which puts the center of a 50" widescreen about 34-36" above the floor)? Shouldn't these be designed at 24" tall...?

TV should NOT be mounted eye level to the middle.

The ratio of eye level dramatically changes as the distance from the TV changes.

We generally install the BOTTOM of the TV to be eye level if possible at the recommended distance from the TV.

If it is too low, it looks stupid when you are standing.

Not very impressive, but still okay for a 24yo Student:

170ft²
Panny 42PZ70E
Logitech Z5500 digital 5.1
Main, work and HTPC

Sorry for the mess, the tower will be replaced with a proper HTPC desktop size case
