Is there a DIY for Headers?!?!!

just as the title says... i just got quoted $750 for install

and if i had a lift i wondered if i could do this

you don't even need a lift. Run a search as I have seen at least 4 threads with header installs

when i installed my headers it took me about 4 hours or so.. the headers took me longer to do than replacing my diff, or entire suspension.. the reason for it taking so long is due to the tight area to work in.. You will need to unbolt the passenger side motor mount, and the brace to the block. I used a 6 ton jack with a 1/2 piece of wood to spread the pressure out over the oil pan. I removed the forward header first, then the aft one was not as bad to remove. One other thing that added to the time, is the fact my car is a new england car so the bolts/studs were rusted together and not easy to get out.

So if it took someone in a garage 4 hours to install, a $750 price is ridiculous.
