E46 M3 Brake Pad Suggestions

Hi all, would like suggestions for a pad for my car. I would like a great pad that can take some track days but 90% of it's use will be daily driver. I would 'like' the pad to be low/no squeal and low dust as well. I believe a metallic pad is what i want since it will withstand the higher temps of a track day.

It's been quite a while since I've looked into performance pads and ~7 years ago Hawk, Axis and EBC were what folks went with.

I know I'm probably asking a ton but if anyone could make any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.

TIA

Thanks BV. I'm actually thinking about getting a high perf street pad all around and then swapping out the fronts for something like these for track/club days. I have heard the dust on pads like this is VERY high. EX: Hawk HP Plus and EBC Yellow.

Any preferences between Hawk HP and EBC Red?

Check out the Cool Carbon brake pads

I have the Cool Carbon S/T pads on my M3. I have been using them for a couple years now, awesome braking torque, alot less dust than the OE pads, and they don't make any noise. I have a friend that has them on his 996 TT, and he said that they are better than the Pagid orange pads that he used to have on the car.

so would you consider them to be track day friendly?

This is what i do (swap in more aggressive pads for track only)... and i have a left over set of HP+ from my 330i (yes its the same pad/part#) so i'll run those next weekend.

Depending on how well they do in the M3 will determine where i go next.
I have also been looking at a set of PFC-01's from Performance Friction.

One thing i found interesting is that the front and rear rotors on the M are same size, whereas on the 330 the rears were smaller. I wonder if BMW is suggesting that the rears are doing more braking on the M than on the 330 ? So this has got me thinking i need to watch the rear pad wear and see if i get the back to lighten up too much under hard braking zones. I may be in the market for front and rear upgraded pads if so.

I'll let you know what i experience after the track day with the HP+ fronts.
