It was a gamble for Toyota that actually helped Ferrari. What do you think would have happened if they didn't gamble on slicks? They would have pitted and Glock would have been behind Hamilton, would have been fifth place after Vettal passed him and still won the championship.

Well playing the "what if" game and there's any number of different ways either Hamilton or Massa could have won the championship.

I'm excited for next year already. With the new aero rules any number of teams could climb the championship ladder or teams could fall down the rankings.

Renault and Torro Rosso made the greatest improvement this year, will they continue it or did they blow their loads catching up this year and neglected next years car?

Will McLaren and Ferrari continue their dominance or will BMW catch them?

Will Renault and Red Bull be able to mount a challenge to the front runners?

Will we have a three way battle again for the drivers championship?

What drivers are going to get the ax and what new talent will we seen next year?

The list goes on, I can't wait.

That was the best F1 race I've seen for sure. The world championship came down to the last half of the last lap!

I wanted Massa to win, but like Jarno said earlier in the week, he didn't really see himself as playing spoiler depending on where he finished because these guys had 17 other weeks to score max points.

As a general comment, I'm really pleased with how the field has seemed to close up a little bit toward the end of this season. I'm not sure if thats due to teams like BMW and Williams knowing they dont have a shot at the title and thus putting the majority of their effort into their '09 car, or if teams like Renault and STR are really making net gains on the other teams.

In any case, what a great finish to an exciting season.

yup he was pretty squirly as hamilton went by, he was wise to stay out of the way, knowing he was nowhere near competitive. good smart driving really, but just amazing that it happened in the last lap of the last race and helped decide the championship.

if it had been alonso in glock's shoes, there'd be an expensive pile of pissed off people and carbon fiber out there.

Time to start picking lottery numbers - I could not believe he came so close to having a HUGE affect on the championship. He and Kubica have been my favorites all season. I wanted to see Hamilton win, if only so he can have the title and stop driving like an idiot when the pressure's on in mid field. He seems to be very impatient when he's not out front - otherwise he'd have had this championship clinched weeks ago.

I like Heidfeld, and he's definitely improved in the past handful of races, but a Kubica/Vettel BMW Sauber team would be friggin awesome. BMW was dumb to let him get away.

BMW Sauber in '09!

And KUDOS to Vettel. He may very well be racing for Ferrari within 5-10 years. Damn amazing driving.
