Hi, I was thinking on changing my old key to the new diamond shape
one ,but on reading through some previous post about the Tamper dot they say that your key's memory has the car's vin number and mileage stored in it's memory. our cars store our mileage/vin number information in 3 places, the ecu, the key, and the cluster..if one of these do not match up it will trigger a tamper dot showing that the mileage has been tampered with. Has anyone changed their old key to the Diamond shape one, and has the tamper Dot appeared after changing their key's inside's of over. Last edited by sierragli; 01-23-2008 at 03:06 PM. |

Changed my keys from the 'Square' type to the diamond type. No tamper dots. Look up luckysnafu's DIY on diamond keys and you shouldn't have any issues. I followed his diy and have two working diamond key remotes. Very easy to follow. Hope this helps! |

I then used my old square remote to open the drivers door and which also turned off the alarm and tryed the diamond key again and the car still would not start |
