How do you hookup an aftermarket amp+subs to your factory head unit?
I don't wanna put in my alpine cd player in it and ruin the class of the interior, so I wanna put my amp and subs in the back and make a custom box for the back. I heard you need some sorta lOC or something for the factory cd player to accept an aftermarket amp, and some sorta sub control thing up front. Anyone have experience with this, and if so can gimmie a sorta DIY on it? Thanks!

i just did mine yesterday. i went to audio shop and bought a $20 hi-lo converter, spliced it into the rear speaker wires (the output from the reciever, not the output from the factory amp), and viola! use this link for reference.. http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthr...threadid=93489
and here's a pic of my converter.. http://www.geocities.com/mrjohnnyv/converter.jpg |

you get a line-out-converter and u splice into the factory wires, connect it to your new aftermarket amp which then connects to your subs

To 330LICIOUS;
The link to your converter picture doesn't work. Can you say which make and model it is? |
