eas | Proud to Announce Synthetic Oil by Redline

eas is now proud to announce that we are now a full stocking dealer of Red Line's synthetic oil's:

Why Red Line?
Since 1979, Red Line Synthetic Oil Corporation has grown to manufacture more than 100 quality products, including motor oils, gear oils, assembly lubes, fuel additives, and its popular WaterWetter cooling additive for the automotive, motorcycle, marine, and industrial markets. Based in Benicia, California, Red Line has a reputation with racers and enthusiasts alike for creating products that perform and protect better than any on the market, regardless of price.

Red Line formulates fully-synthetic oils and chemically-advanced additives using the world's finest base stocks. Rather than cutting costs by blending in petroleum products, Red Line's motor oils and gear oils use superior ester base stocks that provide extreme stability at high temperatures and superior film strength at lower viscosities where more power can be produced.

Red Line - D4 Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid
Red Line Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluids are designed to provide excellent low-temperature shiftability and improved thermal stability over petroleum ATFs. These fluids provide a much lower viscosity at cold temperatures for quicker shifting and their balanced frictional characteristics provide smooth and consistent shifts over extended drain intervals. The superior stability compared to petroleum ATFs also allow high-temperature operation without varnishing valves and clutches, which leads to transmission failure.

Red Line - 70W80 GL-4 Synthetic Gear Oil
Designed to provide the highest degree of protection and greatest efficiency for your drivetrain. Red Line provides a complete line of drivetrain lubricants which are optimized for differential, transmission, or transaxle use over a wide range of temperatures. Proper selection depends upon the manufacturers' requirements and whether the application is for passenger automotive, commercial, or racing use. Red Line Gear Oils contain polyol ester basestocks to provide excellent lubrication even under extreme conditions of high-loading and high- temperatures--their natural lubricity provide excellent slipperiness which reduces the sliding friction in hypoid gears to reduce wear and temperatures. The synthetic basestocks have a natural multigrade property, so large amounts of unstable thickeners are not required to manufacture our gear oils, which means that Red Line Gear Oils will provide a stable viscosity for even extended periods of use. Red Line also manufactures gear oils which can be used in limited-slip differentials without the use of additional friction modifiers.

This 70W80 GL-4 Gear Oil (SAE 5W30/10W30 engine oil viscosity) is designed for use in manual transmissions and transaxles. Provides excellent protection of gears and synchronizers and its balanced slipperiness provides a perfect coefficient of friction, allowing easier shifting. Popular in many BMW transmissions and in most Honda and Acura transaxle applications.

Red Line - 10W40 Synthetic Engine Oil
Red Line's synthetic motor oils are designed to provide the highest protection, cleanliness and superior drain intervals with the lowest friction for your gasoline, diesel, motorcycle or marine engine. We use the most stable components available and formulate our products for wear protection and friction reduction across a wide range of engine operating conditions. Red Line's products are unique because they contain polyol ester base stocks, the only lubricants which can withstand the tremendous heat of modern jet engines. These synthetics have a natural multigrade property which allows our chemists to avoid bulking up an oil with unnecessary additive packages.

Best choice for engines that typically run high oil temperature or for engines in daily-driven vehicles regularly operated in hot weather. Great for medium and heavy duty gasoline engines in trucks. Best choice for high-performance engines that see street/strip or track activity. Features a thicker oil film at operating temperature than a petro-based 20W-50.

Red Line - 75W14NS Synthetic Gear Oil
A heavier product what works well over a wide range of loads and temperatures, This GL-5-type geal oil doesn't contain the friction modifiers for limited-slip hypoid differentials. This makes the transmission synchronizers come to equal speeds more quickly, allowing faster shifting and much easier low-temperature shifting. Can also be used in racing limited-slip differentials where weak spring design causes too much wheel spin.

Red Line - 5W30 Synthetic Engine Oil
Provides the quickest starts and fastest oil pressure rise. Will reduce turbo lag and provides more power and best economy in an engine in good condition. Replacement for OE factory-fill oils in passenger cars and most light trucks, including most new GM cars and trucks. Thicker oil film at operating temperature than a petroleum 10W-40. Best choice for engines operated in extreme cold weather.

Red Line - 20W50 Synthetic Engine Oil
The ultimate high-temperature protection in Red Line engine oils recommended for street use. Good for engines that regularly run very high oil temperatures. Best for engines that run large clearances such as air-cooled engines or large-displacement, all-out racing engines that see occasional street use. Provides 25% more viscosity in bearings than petroleum 20W-50s. Not recommended for use in cold climates where temperatures are at or below 10F or -12C. Not recommended for street use in production engines that see sustained oil temperatures below 225F (those engines should use Red Line 10W-30 or 10W-40).

for the 10w40 synthetic motor oil, how long would you recommend for oil change intervals? Also is it safe to use oil additives such as Restore with it?

-twice as often as the OBC (on board computer, the count down that appears on the odometer when you turn the car on) calls for. AKA, replace the oil when the service interval says 7500 or 0.

You can feel free to do more oil changes during that interval if you like, but that's what most people feel is necessary.
