usually at whole foods, but i stopped at a little local market, Dave's Market. Meats are 10x better than the usual grocery store (stop and shop, ugh)... and cheaper too

When's lobster season out there? DIY on THAT!

BDJ and I have mutual feelings. But he's on the list. Yes, there's a list.

that dish would easily cost you $80 for two at a restaurant.

one question, are you a chef?

i just ate like a pig and these pics still made me hungry.

its new england baby...... its ALWAYS lobster season
i was going to DIY last week, but i got drunk while cooking it hahahahah

i did steamers and lobster, here is a quick DIY

steamers....... soak in ice cold water for an hour or so, add some ice........ add a bunch of vinegar too (red or white, not balsamic lol) the acidity helps them spit the sand out

put 1/2 inch water in a big big pot, add a chopped onion, 1 tsp of crushed red pepper, tbsp or so of minced garlic, and a chopped celery stalk

put the steamers in cold, put heat on high until boiling....... the steamers should be opened up by then, if not then definitely a few minutes......... stir them around a little bit (keep covered at all times, tilt the pan just a tad that way it doesn't explode out)

take steamers out, enjoy (have a side of melted butter to dip in a little)
do not throw that water out....... it has a ton of flavor in it

when you are done with the steamers, put heat back on high, bring to a boil, then through in the lobsters, keep them covered

for a 2 lb lobster, it will take 16-18 min
if you do two lobsters, chic size (1 1/4lb) i would say 15-17 minutes

more melted butter

NEVER BOIL LOBSTERS, ALWAYS STEAM WITH 1/2 INCH OF WATER

boiling them is a
steaming keeps all of the flavor in

thanks bud... ya 80ish would sound about right, especially if you went to a nice restaurant where the sides are ala carte.....

but no i'm not a chef lol........ my father has always cooked, always read buon appetite mags, worked in the restaurant business for 8 years, and i love food.......... it is strictly a hobby, it is relaxing and i love to try new stuff

if i ever had to cook for a living, i would not enjoy it
