Yes. You get about an extra 30whp with cams/headers on an FI 3.0L. AA and ESS seem to strongly recommend headers with their stage 2 kits.

From what I've read, headers reduce backpressure allowing the engine to breath better. Thus reducing boost pressure and adding a measure of safety.

Headers also really open up the exhaust sound and makes a much throatier tone.

The only bad thing is you either need to install cats or live with the fumes. I've got some magnaflow spun cats in place of the front resonators. They seem to be working good. Only smells bad when I start the car in my garage in the morning.

Running e-bay headers with Jet-Hot ceramic coating and AA kit with absolutely no problems and aftermarket high-flow cat in place of the forward resonator. Absolutely no problems or cracks or leaks, tolerable engine compartment temps, no check engine lights for cats (had to extend rear O2 sensor wire harnesses), and good deep tone.

It increases heat dissipation and the headers run cooler. Which decreases heat soak in the engine bay. And also helps to prevent cracking.

There was a thread here that compared the supersprint headers to the ebay ones. There was an obvious quality difference but it is hard to say how muc more if any power the supersprint one would make.

I'd just get the ebay headers and send them to Jet Hott. Now you have some awesome headers for less than $500.

There are some good ceramic coaters just SW of Orlando as well. Seems to me that you could get it done cheaply right now as well.

yeah i can send em to the same place frankie sent his to get coated, only thing is i think they charge about $175 per set, and i believe jet hot is cheaper, the headers on in on thursday, and the kit (if everything goes well) will come in in less than two weeks, so i have time to decide, i gotta contact frankie to double check on the price, if anything, i'll get them done in orlando

Don't think its going to help the tranny keep from chunking itself. It might help with shifts, etc., but I wouldn't personally waste the money on it unless you never plan to do a manual swap.
