Lightning Audio

Has anyone put lightning Audio in their car? If so what size (does it fit w/out mods), how many watts are you powering them with and how does it sound. Thanks all.

You dont want to go with them....especially in a BMW. Just go with some nice components by MB Quart, Focal, Boston

LOL lightning audio is quite fast and furious; however, it is also very, very cheap. Stay way from their speakers and subs...period. Their amplifiers also suck, but they will get the job done. However, be aware of extreme sensitivity to ambient heat and quickly overheating. In the long run, you'll save a lot of money by buying something of quality rather than buying Lightning then something else. Inexpensive brands to consider would be:

1) rockford fosgate for amps
2) JL audio for components (solid and inexpensive)
3) Subs? The diamond audio CM3 line if you can find them; quality units at a great price

If you are looking for good quality and very very nice sound for low money, Profile makes a great line of amps called "Clarus". I have used them and they are VERY nice. They will drive interior components quite nicely at 75watts rms power @4ohms. I drove a front set of Rockford 6.75" components in the front and 1-10" Polk sub in the rear of a newer Eclipse and the sound rocked. The amp NEVER shutdown or overheated and the sound was always crisp and punchy.

In a BMW with a trunk mounted sub though, even with the 225 watts rms in bridged mode, it may not be enough power to get great bass unless you have a ski passthrough or openings into the trunk.

TT

I was already planning on doing the fosgate amps and I'm also getting fosgate subs (Power HX2). Is JL good or just cheap? I'm looking for power too, which is one reason i was going with lightning. I want some components that can handle 125+. I want it LOUD to go along with the gi-normous bump I'm gonna be getting from the HX2s.
