What the hell is wrong here????

Hey... have the Power Acoustik (i know it sounds crappy, but its actually pretty good) Area 51 820x2 amplifier. I recently purchased it along with 2 12” MTX Thunder 8000’s. He had the same set up in his 2002 M3. I have it in my 2001 325i. We both had the stock head units. I had the guys at circuit City install it all. It worked great for the first two days. Now, when I listen to music, the subs keep faiding in and out. I took it to Circuit City today, and they re-saudered the wires to the RCA jack thing. Now, the amp is powered, the lights go on, but nothing comes out of the subs. They attached another speaker to the amp, and it didn’t work…… What do I do, can someone help me????

your problem lies in the signal because the amp powers up and runs. when running with the stock radio, they had to find a wire (preferably a speaker wire) to tap into. They shouldve spliced the wire and attached a hi/low convertor and from there, the rcas would go from that convertor to the amp. How many amps are u running? If i were u, open up the trunk carpet on the left side of ur trunk where there is that box thingy for the cd player, navigation console etc. take out all the carpet wall and look inside. you should see the factory amps, wires etc. look for the hi/low convertor (a squarish thing where the rcas go out) check to see if everything is in place (no loose wires) i am 100 percent sure ur problem is there. also check your amp to see if it is configured right, (frequency range, sub/sonic filter, low/pass on)
Goodluck

You were 100% right. I went there, and had them redo it and now it works great. Thank you very much...
