Question Quick Question About Bulb Set Up on DEPO Non-LED R/C/R Tails for Pre-Facelift Sedans?

I was interested in buying a set of non-LED R/C/R tails for my 2001 330i Sedan. I was wondering how does the bulbs in the back look.

Are they 1/1/1 configuration like this picture below?

or 1/1/2 with two bulbs in the bottom row similar to the OEM facelift tails?

And do the trunk lid light light up with the normal driving lamps like OEM?

Trunk lid light does not function. Before I switched to LEDs tails recently, I had what looks to be the same tails as you pictured.

Yeah I'm suspecting that because the OEM pre facelift trunk lid light is a dummy hole with no function. In the UK the dummy hole is actually where the rear fogs are. On OEM facelift tails the trunk lid light is filled with a bulb that serves as the normal driving lights.

So OEM pre facelift tail bulb conguration is as follows

X1 R
X2 X3 X0

The top X1 is the turn signal lamp, the bottom left X2(bright) is the brake lamp, both bottom X2(dim) and X3 are normal rear driving lamps, R is the reverse lamp and X0 is a dummy hole that would be rear fog lamp on the Euro E46s.

OEM facelift tail bulb configuration is as follows

X1
X2 R
X3 X4 X5

Where X1 is the brake lamp; X2 is the turn signal lamp; X3 X4 and X5 are the normal rear driving lamps and in UK Euro spec cars X5 (bright) also serves as the rear fog and becomes extra bright when the rear fog button is pressed. R is the reverse lamp.

I'd e-mail the vendor before you purchase the set and ask. The 2nd set, a vendor has on eBay, showing 2 bulbs on the lower red.

DEPO R/C/Rs have two bulbs in the bottom. The second picture in the original post, those are the DEPO tails I have. Trunk lights don't light up. The left red trunk light is my rear fog light.

just buy depo r/c/r leds from khoalty...the plugs are 1/1/2...the trunk lights do light up on that version...and theyre leds

I bought mine from khoalty...but i haven't had time to retrofit them onto my facelifted sedan (they are only available for pre-facelift). Since you're prefacelift, you're just plug&play with the exception of resistors that you may need to correct lightout messages...

heres a link to pics and info from aerick...http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=623770
