I know all about that...

Can I ask why you need relays for xenons? I've never heard of this before. I have a Evosport Xenon kit on the way in the mail, and I'm wondering if I need them or if they come with it? Do the relays add some kind of feature? I feel really stupid asking this...

What a dumb question.................
just kidding brotherThe relays (if these are the relays I think they are) do the same job as going to the dealer and having them turn on the xenon function. Unless you make them yourself it seems the 100-200 bekkers charges for them is more then what will spend at the dealer to have them put it into the computer. So to answer you ? they get rid of the error message from your computer...................or we are both dumb and I have no idea what Im talking about |

Thats an interesting idea. I'd be interested depending on the price of the realys, but I really dont like the idea of having to do more wiring and adding boxes to my headlights. I guess it all depends on price for me.

correct
You are correct, these are homemade and saved my alot of $$ and BS from the dealer. They get rid of the error msg when you retrofit xenon lights to a halogen car, but what seems to happen is that the place you buy xenon lights from, the guys never mention needing 2 relays. I bet they just wait for you to install it, then they will tell you that you need it and charge you an outrageous price for it. I guess they don't think you'll drop another 100 dollars or so already on top of what you're paying for the xenons.
Bekkers wants $100 if you bought the lights from them, $200 if you didn't. The dealer wanted $90 dollars to do a simple 5 min job. A few people in the bekkers xenon group buy wanted to see pics of mine installed on my car, and wanted to know if they could buy this kit from me. There's no cutting, they just tap into your lowbeams and you ziptie the relays to something plastic. If I get enough people interested I could be able to sell them $40 shipped to your door. |

hmm
Considering it took alot of hours and money getting this thing right, i think i deserve to keep the dyi a secret for now, plus I'm not getting much of a profit off these anyway, but I think i deserve a little($10 a set).
