CD Player Help!
Hey.. Im thinking about adding a 6 disk changer
If I go with an Aftermarket CD player (Alpine) would it void my new car warranty? Also, Im looking for a CD/mp3 6 disk changer, do they have these out? I only see regular 6 disk around. Can anyone help me out here? Thanks ! |

Alpine has an Mp3 changer, the CHA-S634. It's a 6 disc changer that uses Ai-Net. There is an Ai-Net adapter for BMWs. You can find one made by Blitz. It will allow you to hook up an Alpine aftermarket CD changer to a BMW. I am not 100% sure if the Mp3 will work with the BMW head unit, but theoretically it should. Just have fun trying to go past track 100 on your head unit.

It will only void the waranty for the stock speakers and amp, which are not too great anyways. Don't worry about it, you should be okay if you don't crank it up to extreme levels.

is that the whole warranty on the car of just on the amps and speakers?
also, if i get that 6 disk mp3/cd player, will the adapter that crutchfield sells work? im thinking about running that with the stock head unit. |

from what i know, alpine doesnt offer a cd/mp3 changer thats an m-bus(which is the kind thats compatible with bmw oem systems).
im not sure if an ai-net changer could work with the bmw system(via adapter). I heard that an ai-net could not work if your system uses m-bus even if tehre is an adapter. im not sure though. Last edited by kb756; 07-14-2003 at 04:02 AM. |
