Honestly from the sounds of what the OP is looking for, I think a Low end Harmony would be more than sufficent. Im not down playing about the brands your talking about, but for this guy I dont think he wants to have to hire someone just to program the remote for him , and then re program it every time he changes something out on his system.

The harmony is something that he can program, although it wont be perfect the first time around, if he is patient and spends some time with the remote and the software, theres no reason for him not to be able to have it dialed in within about 2 hours. Even if its his first time picking up the remote and software.

Thats the one thing that people dont get, its irrelvant what brand your talking about. Your not going to have everything perfect in 10 minutes, always.

I have no problem programming the remote... im pretty computer savvy so the programming is no probem

The problem I had with the Harmony was the screen -- Example:

It automatically programmed my TV. Many of the options were on the screen, and the screen had 8 pages. To get to PIP for example, i had to scroll through 7 screens, then the same to take it of. Channel up on PIP? Scroll to screen 8. Rediculous.

U would want to move the icons around then, you can do that through the software. I had to do that for my main living room set up, going through the 8 pages does get really annoying
