Raymond, this forum (as great as it is) needs more DIY people like yourself, that although told it would be a PITA/ would not work/ too complex, just went out to do it ANYWAYS, and succeed while proving some A$Sumptions to be incorrect.

damn wish i saw this sooner, i was brampton all last week visiting my parents and friends,, i have EDIABAS setup on my laptop, maybe it could have helped with finding your leaks or any other fault codes,. anyhow great job, let me know if you go to any meets in brampton, (guys are lazy in windsor) i should be in the GTA closer to christmas week.

interesting - I have read over and over that the intake volume on the 330 intake is greater than the 2.5 intakes...they are different part numbers - when comparing the m54b30 and m54b25

yeah they are not EXACTLY the same...But so close that i used the M54b30 intake boot on the M52Tu25 intake manifold...beside each other they are very close in size... it is only the MAF section which is larger but not the actual throttle body.. i would suspect that this would allow for greater air flow but not by a marginal amount...

Again, I have a M54b30 and an m54b25 sitting here and I have examined the intakes and throttle bodies - i agree that looking at the intakes there does not seem to be a difference...but the TB's are different sizes
AND like you mentioned, the intake tubes from the MAF to the TB are very different (as are the MAF's) Which injectors are you running? If using the 323 injectors, are you starving the motor?? Running it lean? What color are the injectors on the 323? btw - I am not questioning your efforts - I am genuinly interested as I have the spare M54b25 motor sitting here and would love to find a dead 323 or 328 or 325 in swap this motor in for my daughter who will be driving in a few months. does anyone know how much a 323 or 328 with a dead motor would cost? Needs to have clean body and interior...I can fix the rest

I just finished (well, I have some more wiring to wrap up) a swap in my wagon. I removed the m54b25/auto and installed a m54b30/6spd with supercharger. This was after swapping the 3.0L in my sedan with a built 3.0L for stage III SC. I built the 3.0L stage III motor and I enjoyed every minute of it

This sounds like an awesome swap. I have a couple of questions:
1. So as long as you use the m52tub25 intake manifold everything else is plug and play? As in you did not have to make any customer modifications to either any electrical connections? Exhaust? Drive shaft, mounts, anything, etc? or was is just as if you were swapping a m52tub25 back into it? 2. Do you know if the 323 transmissions fits the m54? 3. Did you do a dyno to see what you were getting out of the motor with the m52 intake and dme? I have Beltronics FX2 so if you want to get an idea let me know. 4. Finally, I am in the GTA also and I am just wondering how you found the engine? What are some specific places I can start calling? |
