Brake pad warning light with 11300 miles?

Should I be getting a brake pad warning light at 11300 miles. Shouldn't these pads last longer than that, I don't do alot of hard braking either!

that does seem kinda short....oh well, have your dealer look at it...it's all included with your service.

I'm at 11700 and no light yet, I do occasional hard braking.
