On a stand it might be ok. On a wall, it would def be too low. what about your coffee table? can you see over stuff on it?

I looked at a BDI stand that was recommended for the bedroom (extra height), but it would have looked awkward in the living room. It's hard to find something in between 19"-32" in height (even in the high end stuff). |

I definately agree with the mounting the bottom of the tv at eye level and then just put a slight angle on the tv for best viewing. Also an added bonus is you can have your laptop on your lap while on the couch and have full view of the TV still.
I did this in a weekend myself. Mounted the TV, ran 2 Component, 1 Composite video, 1 HDMI, 4 Ethernet from my office, all surround speakers, Sub wiring, and speaker wiring all through the walls/attic and crawl. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And since then I have installed some lights as well: Last edited by davbro21; 02-22-2009 at 09:50 PM. |

I got exceptionally lucky.... behind that wall are the 2 one piece shower inserts in my 2 bathrooms. Luckily there is dead space in between the fiberglass and the studs so I was able to run the wires from the plate to the tv as well as the power outlet and power for the lights with minimal problems. Getting the wires from the speakers in the ceiling from the attic to the crawl space was definately a PITA.

^ Looks nice. You're probably past the age where you should have a model car on display in front of your TV, though.

I dont like touchscreens. I had a basic B/W Crestron a long time ago, I sold it.
My (6) MX850s do anything and everything I need. I cant think of a single function that a Crestron would do that I dont already have. Really. PS - I gave my amp a facelift to match the bottom section of the rack better. Now I gotta move my PS3 somewhere. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Why does everyone put their TV's near the ceiling? Spend a lot of time on our backs, do we?
