***BMW ECU programming solution*** OPEN DISCUSSION inside please

Hi all,

I'm an experienced tuner (Mitsubishi, GM cars) and I want to have a open discussion with anybody that has information on tuning BMW's. OR any kind of information you want to share, or spare ecu you can donate "temporary"..

I found the hardware that is needed for READ/WRITE
"KWP2000+ Plus ECU Flasher"

example: On my 2003 330i my ECU is a Siemens MS43.

Since the ones that hold ALL the knowledge dont want to share the info I'm taking it on myself with the help of others (I hope) to find the info and in the hopes to finally provide a solution to ALL to tune our own cars and be able to create our own custom F/I kits...

Have you looked at EVC?

nice....and it true how a lot of people dont want us knowing how easy it can be to modify our ECUs...good luck...wish i can help

anybody out there has a standalone on theyre e46 i never seen one

While it may be true that a lot of tuners do not wish to hold classes on how it's done, I can guarantee that it's not easy at all.

Only a select few know how to tune the S54 ECU (Conforti, Nick G, Shadowman etc.) Those guys have developed a software SharkEdit to allow you to due a self tune or run maps that they provide. It was due to be released last year but Conforti heard that a group wanted to hack his work. From what I understand, Conforti is busy doing some encryption and has not set a date to release the Shark Edit.

What Jim should be doing is a setup just like "www.hptuners.com" he would make a fortune. For me its not about making money as I did that before when I was tuning supercharged GM's and Mitsu's...I dont have time for that anymore. I want to concentrate on my 330i and long term goal of becoming a specialist with BMW tuning and custom F/I.

I would so love to be able to adapt a EATON Blower M62 or M90 (cheap, low maintenance and awesome street torque where it counts the most for our daily drivers) to our 6 cylinders running at 7PSI and a nice water/meth setup if you would want to run more then 7PSI.

Similar to the very high quality ESS twinscrew kit


Few things I can bring to the BMW community:

1) Hopefullt A tuning solution for all of us on the very very cheap
2) My experience with Turbo's and the EATON blower
3) Experience tuning F/I cars and N/A cars

I believe in sharing and helping each other instead of keeping secrets for huge profits.... as we are all here for the same reasons (learning and helping each other) and not all of us have thousands and thousands of dollars burning holes in our pockets

neither was UNIX the operating system and everybody's combined effort around the world together (free of charge) built the best Operating system in the world.

I find standalones are a bit of a band aid solution... flashing the ECU is the way to go 100% for reliability especially.

I have an AEM on my mustang and I have to say, it has something like 467 different parameters that you can tune, it is one hell of a setup but you need to really know what you are doing with it...I wish I could work it without a tuner/expert , but it sure does fit the bill, if we had more info to work the stock computer, that would be great, I hope you find a whole mess of info for the community, appreciate the effort.

I worked with the Advanced Engine Management system a long time ago on my first car turbo honda 92 years a long time ago I was the first turbocharged Honda in Ontario, canada. The wiring to the stock harness is quite impressive and the price too ...for me personaly I like leaving the stock wiring alone for reliability.

One thing I dont understand is why does it seem like BMW is the only make that doesnt already have a tuning solution available for everybody to use and share. Mitsubishi has DSMLINK, etc... honda has HONDATA, etc.. GM has HPTUNERS, ... Audi,subaru..etc..all have one and everybody helps out everybody in the forums...expect well here.

Once I receive the hardware/cables I will be looking for a spare BMW ECU for testing and retreiving the code on my laptop. I'm Going to study the code and do my homework and once I do find out all about them...the info will be shared with you all I am sure some people on here are just waiting for that to be able to build their own F/I.

The big question is, do you have the software to run it? It's not included with the hardware and the only available link is dead.

i know that evosport has a ecu for the bmw models also M3 and others stand alone that is plug and play. and ask carmen (Wizeguy) i think the company that is doing his developed a plug ad play unit also i believe.

Sweet setup for sure.

All plug and play...ONLY problem for me is 2500$ later is way to much money. Only need access to a few settings on the stock ECU to run boost properly.
