Review the TV-- Need Help

I want to buy new Panasonic 42" Plasma TH-42PX80U TV. May you review the TV. Should I buy external speakers for it. Does the TV compatible with 5.1 Channel home theater?
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

well the audio is not awesome but its better than all samsung televisions for sound...i love the tv, need to be calibrated though, too blue out of the box.....the tv is not relevant to whether you want 5.1, your budget is though, plan on at least $500-$1k for a 5.1 setup

All HD plasmas are 5.1 compatable if you have a DD receiver.

TV is great, sound is not.

Good sound will cost you twice as much as the TV, so get the TV first and upgrade as you can.

Receiver and two bookshelves, then a sub, then a center, then two better bookshelves and move your old ones to the back, etc.
