Wow, they look great. Excellent choice. Did you go with a 265 or 255 in the back?

I'm with Chris on the brake caliper clearance issue, though. That sounds competely funky. When you get a minute, would you please see if you can get a good picture of your rear brakes and post it in this thread? Just for future reference.

Enjoy the new wheels!

While reading this post, some of your comments about this wheel/tire set up are confusing me. I keep hearing i can't put an oem m3 wheel on the rears of a non m e46 but i really want to put style 68's on my car. I have a 2000 328i sport pkg. the wheels are 17 x 7.5 with a 24mm offset which would put the wheels about 2.8 inches of front spacing without counting the lip. but the setup from this post (with the spacer for the rears) puts the front spacing at 3.2 inches without the lip and those are 18 inch wheels instead of 17's. am i missing something? after looking at the car i don't see how a 17" wheel with 225/45 tire can give me trouble even with the 24mm offset in the back.

Please correct me if need be.

I am not an M3 expert, but the threads I've read say you can't put E46 M3 wheels all the way around on a non-M E46. IIRC the E46 M3 came with staggered 18x8/+47 and 18x9/+27 wheels. The 18x9/+27 wheel will not fit an non-M E46 because it has 3.44 inches of front spacing, which will cause the wheel to stick out and hit the fender. That's why you see guys with non-M E46s running front M3 wheels (18x8/+47) on all four corners.

I don't know of an E46 M3 that came with 17s, but based on the dimensions you posted, yes a 17x7.5/+24 would fit. The wheel is narrower overall, and the offset is such that both the inside edge and outside edge are farther way from the suspension/bodywork than the ones OP installed.

Hope that helps.

the m68's i am talking about were oem for the e46 m3 as a winter setup. i think they should be pretty flush but total circumference seems to be smaller than my wheel well and since i am not trying to put some crazy tire on them i thought they might work. i am just hoping they don't look real puerto rican (not to be a d%#k) but i really do like the wheels.

I mounted 255s in the back. Here is a pic of one of the rear break calipers (yes, I know they need to be painted) and one of the 5mm spacers. Perhaps there was a flaw in the design of this set of wheels from beyern...? Oh well, everything works wonderfully now so no complaints.
