got robbed at gunpoint saturday... -$220 for me :(

so my gf and i had just left a party and were headed downtown to taco bell and then to meet some friends after the dave matthews band concert. on the way we saw two of her best friends driving in the other lane and motioned them to meet us in the walgreens parking lot on the corner of hillsboro road (large main road in nashville) and hobbs. as we get there, they pull in behind us and my brother follows in his yellow land rover. we get out and start talking etc. a guy gets out of his car about 6 parking spaces over from us and comes over to me and asks if he can bum a cigarette. being the generous smoker that i am, i walked to my car, got him a cig, and walk back and give it to him. as he was about to put it in his mouth and light it, he said "I DONT WANT YOUR DAMN CIGARETTE! GIVE ME ALL OF YOUR WALLETS RIGHT NOW OR I'LL SHOOT YOU. I HAVE A GUN IN MY POCKET (he pulls the gun out of the pocket of his oversized pants) AND IM NOT AFRAID TO USE IT." my brother immediatley hands his wallet over. at first i kinda hesitated since i was still kinda in shock and taken back. i gave him my wallet, he looks at the three girls and asks them if the have a purse or wallet or anything and when they tell him no he turned, ran back to his car yelling "DO NOT CANCEL YOUR CREDIT CARDS BEFORE MONDAY OR I WILL COME TO YOUR HOUSE AND KILL YOU. I DO HAVE YOUR ADDRESSES ON YOUR LISENCES." he got in his car and sped away. the first thoughts running through my mind were holy **** i couldve just gotten shot and get his fvckin plate #! we kinda ran over after he pulled off to try to see his tags but the way he was parked and pulled out it was too dark to read. some managers came running out of the store asking what just happened, and i found out that they had no parking lot surveilance. awesome. i had just sold my subs to a kid the day before and had forgottne to take the $200 out of my wallet. and the rest of the cash that i had in there. about $220 down the drain. cops came. they are still looking for this guy. GAH i hope they find and bust his asss.

bummer, hopefully they catch him. to be honest, i'd leave my credit cards open for a few days, hopefully they're dumb enough to use them at a place with cameras...

That sucks! I never carry cash for reasons like that.

Cancel the cards. Though he's got some bras balls, that guy is not going to go anywhere near your house.

+1, I just keep all my charge/credit cards and the few business cards I have in there

damn, i'm glad no one got hurt

damn man this sucks......dont get all bummed out about it....just be glad no one got killed...your wallet and everything inside of it is replaceable...life isnt....you guys did the right thing

PS: It's worth a mention... but not smoking would have prevented all of this, lol

Doubt it...that just gave the guy a reason to come up to him...if he didnt see them smoking he probably would of just rushed them instead of using the "friendly" approach.

haha just playing, I don't know what I would've done.. hopefully the cops get him in time, isn't there anyway the police can track the credit cards when its used?

cancel the card right away, grab yourself a comfortable chair plant it on your front lawn, and have a shotgun sitting on your lap with a cold beer in your hand (could be a long wait) and just wait for the b*tch to come!
