ADVICE NEEDED: Purchasing a new TV
Hey guys. I could really use some help on deciding on which TV to get. I am so confused I don't really know what to do haha. As far as brand I believe I have narrowed it down to Samsung. (Yes I know Pioneer Elite is the best, but I'm not wanting to spend 5K+ on a TV right now). I would like to stay in the range of at least 55" and above.
As far as the type of tv, I have both an LCD and Plasma, and so far I have not been happy with the LCD so I'm going to stay away from there. Here are the two following Plasma's that I am debating on buying. Can someone help me figure out the difference between the two in terms of picture quality and features? Samsung PN63A760 http://reviews.cnet.com/flat-panel-t...-33182093.html Samsung PN63A650 http://reviews.cnet.com/flat-panel-t...-33234546.html Now in light of shopping for those two, I saw the new LED backlit Samsung TV's and I must say I am amazed. The largest they go is 55" but the quality of the picture seemed much better than the LCD's that I was comparing it to. Also the amt of heat was much lower than the plasmas. To top it off a thickness of 1" is def hard to beat. here's the model number: UN55B7000 http://www.samsung.com/us/consumer/d...UN55B7000WFXZA Can anyone here help me make a decision or help shed some light on what to do? I'm kinda stuck at this point and can't seem to figure out how to weigh the pros and cons of each. Thanks for reading, and any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the 65" Panasonic Plasma, it blows me away daily. I have a bunch of other top of the line LCD's as well and that Plasma is truly amazing.

glockman talked me out of LED's...I was looking at the Sharps...They looked amazing in the stores because they ran blu-ray demo disks on them to make them look amazing, while only pushing 1080i to the rest of the tvs....they also get certain units ISF certified making certain sets look much better than others...glockman knows everything, listen to him.

58-inch and larger models Approximate retail price Samsung PN58A550 Samsung PN58A550 Price: $3200 Summary: A 58-inch plasma HDTV from Samsung with 1920x1080 resolution, 2 component-video inputs, and 3 HDMI inputs. See model overview $3200 80 Go for this! I love samsungs and they are taking over the market IMO. I took that off of consumer reports website they rate it #1 above the pioneer that cost $2300 (Pioneer PDP-6020FD ) and the panasonic comes in a close third (Panasonic TH-58PZ850U) Now if you go with either the Samsung or Panasonic your gunna be happy. I'm just partial to Samsung. Good luck shopping! |

Okay so I'm basically still stuck between the 63" plasma, or the 55" LED. Lets stay on topic for those two models. Help me make a decision please! =)

^^^post a pic to show everyone how thin it is? I don't think people really understand the pimp factor of your TV
I ended up getting the 63" sammy plasma. I'll try and take pictures and post it up.
