Steering Pump

So i think my steering pump is done.

Looking to buy one

found this site but dont know which to buy

I got a 325i 2001 auto with 100k

http://www.******************.com/se...&Vh=2001%20BMW

I am really broke...so let me know which one would be good. I just want my car to go back to the way it was before.

Also if you know any good site to find steering pumps let me know.
Thanks

Guess if you are "really broke", then the cheapest one would be your only option!

I'd be careful when using a website like that, particularly because that picture doesn't seem like the right pump (although I'm not sure - all I know is that mine was much different).

Like alizbeemer sort of said, BMW used two different PS pump models for our cars, depending on the year. My car is a '99 and used the older Luk LF-30 model, so I was able to get a Cardone remanufactured pump from Advance Auto for ~$130 (nice and cheap), and it's worked fine so far. Your car probably uses the Luk LF-20, the newer style, and so you have to be careful and make sure you're not getting the wrong model. Check RealOEM using your VIN to see which pump your car came with; I think I read somewhere that the LF-30 was phased out late in the '99 production year, but it may have been used up to around 2001.

How do you know that the steering pump is done??
Mine was really noisy when turning left and right, and the mechanic shop told me that I have to change it, but then I read some threads about changing the fluid, and since I changed it... I haven't had any problems, knock on wood...
