Questions about 6.5 Coaxials in the Rear Deck
Has anyone replaced their HK or non-HK rear mids in the rear deck (not the 6x9)? Any cutting or dremeling involved?
I believe they are 6.25" and I'm trying to fit 6.5" MB Quart coaxials. Not sure about the depth or width. |

The factory grills easily fit in thier original spots with the speakers recessed this way and theres no indication of anything other then OEM. Looks perfect. Best of all, the gluing can all be done outside of the car (just take the enclosures out of the car completely to do the gluing them reinsert them with speaker attached when its dry). Well the speaker is glued to the enclosure itself. That connection was very solid, as I could pick up the enclosure upside down and the speaker didn't fall out or move at all. The enclosure is only held into the car itself by gravity and the metal "key" or whatever you call it. There is a shape in the metal designed so it sits down in there. I haven't noticed any rattling whatsover from the speakers firing, or from the sub firing. This has the added benefit of protecting your speakers from bass waves interfering with the back of the speaker if you have a sub in the trunk. The mount to me seemed to be extremely solid.
