Dice problems
Hey guys. I have dice silverline installed in my car and i'm having some issues with it. I have it in the mode where you can use either the ipod or the controls on the HU. Problem is that when i turn the car off dice does not put the ipod into standby and thus when i turn the car back on, the ipod has gone to sleep and dice does not wake it up, meaning i'm having to unplug and replug my ipod back in everytime i start the car. Pain in the a55! I'm using an ipod nano 4g. Anyone else had similar problems or know how to resolve this? Also i can not change bass, treble etc. whilst the car is using dice.

I have a dice and it works perfectly until the ipod goes into deep sleep. Thats when I have to unplug the ipod and plug it back again which is a bit of a pain as its in the boot. I think the ipod has 2 stages of sleep. Dice is ok with the 1st one and wakes up as soon as you change the mode to ipod on the head unit.
I think there is a setting in the ipod to increase the time when it goes into each sleep mode. I think I have set it to max. As such it takes more than a day of not using the DICE for it to go into deep sleep. Btw, mine is an ipod classic 80GB 5th gen (i think) Maybe one of these days I will try to move the ipod into the front arm rest. Then it wont be a pain. I havent tried changing the base, treble as its set to flat within my ipod so the music it plays is pure and only the head unit amp makes the changes. Less distortion this way. But I am sure my ipod controls are fully functional when its playing through the DICE. I will try if the bass, treble can be changed and let you know soon. I think it maybe something to do with the setting of the dip switches within your DICE. Unfortunately I cant tell you my settings as its installed within the boot trim. If I ever remove it to relocate the ipod then I can probably let you know sometime in future. g'luck Hope this helps. Last edited by fgin; 07-31-2009 at 12:07 AM. |
