What on EARTH is this LEAK?!?!?!!?!? ARGHH!!!
I've circled several problem areas with a big, fat red circles.
Can anyone please identify what on earth is causing these leaks? It's starting to annoy me just knowing that the leak is there! --------------------------------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by iftwb; 08-19-2009 at 04:27 PM. |

That is the power steering pressure hose. But until you locate the source, there's no way to tell what oil is leaking.

Okay,
RockLee after doing some research, I've discovered that if you order a replacement O-ring for the Power Steering Reservoir (from say Pelican Parts), it should fix the problem. I remember now, I did this a while back and it fixed the problem. But only at top? Now I've got a problem down below... Last edited by iftwb; 08-19-2009 at 05:12 PM. |

The power steering reservoir is one issue. However, I have another few questions for you guys:
1. What exactly did I circle in Picture #1 to Picture #3? 2. In Picture #1 to #3 - you can see a bolt attached to a strong, thick metal casing tube circled with the red ring. Does this attach to the power steering pressure hose circled in pictures #4 to #6? 3. If the bolt/nut is where the leak is coming from, would replacing the bolt/nut with a new washer (if one exists behind it) fix the problem? 4. If it all comes to worse...should I replace the unit circled in red in Picture #1? If so, what parts am I looking at? Last edited by iftwb; 08-19-2009 at 05:11 PM. |

The reservoir is leaking because there is a hole in the cap designed to allow a leak. If you don't allow it to leak, it will blow up. Is that what you want ?

PS lines, you can replace them if the leak is bad.

Of course not, now do we? But before I replaced the O-ring, it stopped all the leaks? No explosions? Blow ups? ![]() Part numbers? |
