RANT: Had an interesting night last night...

I was relaxing at home last night watching TV and unwinding from the past week when I got a call from an ex of mine (which im still friends with), crying her eyes out and absolutely hysterical because her boyfriend had just pinned her to the ground and was beating her, she told me that she had just got away from him and hit him in the face with a drinking glass, and he had left for the time being. In the middle of the call, he comes back in yelling and screaming at her in the back ground, and all of a sudden the call ends.

So I got a little concerned, I called back, it went straight to the machine. I went online and she had IMed me and told me that he snatched the phone from her and took her car keys. I told her to get out of there (the kid is psycho), and she said hes not letting her leave and wont give her her stuff back and was threatening to hurt her if she tried to leave. I told her to hold on and that I was going to call the cops and have them go to her place, but she said no because she was worried that she would get in trouble too for hitting him in the face with the drinking glass

The conversation stopped about 3 minutes into it, and I didnt hear back from her, I called again twice, went straight to the machine, so at this point, I was really worried, she was in the room with a guy literally TWICE her size (shes small, probably 5'1, about 100 lbs), she was being threatened by a guy who in the past has had a history of beating her, stalked her, chased her down in a car after she tried to get away in a prior incident, and is just psychotically abusive. So I waited a bit longer to see if she would respond, I kept asking if she was ok, and all of a sudden she messages me back and says "help"

So immediately I threw on some clothes, and drove over to her place (let at around 12 AM), I get there and knock on the door, and surprisingly, she opens the door for me, I walked in, and the place was a war zone, stuff smashed and scattered every where, holes in the wall... it looked pretty bad. I gave her a once over at the door to make sure she was ok, she had been crying and her face was a little red, but other than that she was ok, thank god. I walked infront of her as we went back into the living room, he was standing in the middle of the room. At this point he starts to freak out a little bit since there was now someone there who he couldnt pick on and was obviously sticking up for her. I asked him what the problem was and what was going on, he instantly drops his tough guy act and breaks down and starts scrambling telling me that shes a liar and a *****, and that she threatened to break his things, etc etc, and some other incoherent BS.

I stopped him towards the end and told him this was what was going to happen, that he will give her back her keys and her phone, she will get her things together and that she was going to leave with me because she did not feel safe there and that I didnt feel safe with her staying there. He then gets mad and says shes not going anywhere and that shes not leaving. At this point, I turned to her and told her to get her stuff together, I turned back to him and told him that either im taking her with me right now and she leaves with me, or I bring the cops over and we ALL leave with them. He pauses and says fine, she doesnt have to leave, i'll leave. So he puts her phone down on the table, grabs his laptop and leaves.

After he left, we sat down and talked for a while, I made sure she was ok and helped her pick up some of her stuff, about 15 minutes into it she gets a text from him, saying that hes down stairs in HER car (he took her keys with him) and that hes going to wait till I left and come back to the apartment. We got her stuff together, and snuck out the back way of the apartment, and I took her to her parent's place for the night (would have came back to my place, but I lived 30 minutes away from her and she had work early in the morning and her job was in her area).

Got home at around 4 AM, im actually surprised things went as smoothly as they did, the kid has a pretty violent history, and this isnt the first time this has happened (its been much worse), she has gotten back together with him every time. Its amazing to me how stupid women can be when they grow attached to someone, no matter how much of a psycho he is or how much they are being abused, beaten, and mistreated, they cling onto that guy for dear life.

Hopefully this time will be the last time and she can finally learn from her mistakes.

Handled well, though I would have had the cops meet him while he was waiting in her car. Can't say though since I wasn't there. I can't stand dumbasses like that.

holy ****, sounds like what i went through a year or so ago, my first g/f which i occasionally am still in touch with, calls me in the middle of the night, and i know her current thug wannabe boyfriend is abusive and this and that. So she calls me crying, saying help, she was scared for her life, she was trembling, and i could hear him screaming and hitting the door in the apartment complex at 3 or 4 am.

Hop in the car, run up the stairs with a bat, guy drops his act, breaks down and cries saying he wants her and this and that, i get in, he had obviously hit her or threw her against a wall as her face was swelling.

I asked her if she can take a day or two of clothes and come stay with me, she did, and as i left, i told the guy that if i ever hear about him again, and he lays a finger on her, i would make sure my bat would break his face. I couldn't believe how angry i got.

To this day she still has problems with him, but apparently broke up with him lately, well see how long that lasts.

cops should of gotten involved... that dude has issues, and should be accountable for his issues.
