:::Dont know what to do, need advice BAD:::

So i let my roomate take my car out lastnight (i kno, i kno, i shouldnt have let anyone drive MY car). So he came back to the house and said "Dude, something is wrong with your car".....

I get in, and the clutch wont engauge. I can start it in gear and it will start rolling (which im sure isnt the best for the car). So my question is....is the clutch completely blown?

I always hear about clutches starting to go, but he had to have driven the car back so doesnt that mean he would have had to blow it right in the driveway?

I read the average cost of a clutch is anywhere from 900-1200, does this sound about right?

Is the pedal just limp or does it feel normal and the clutch just wont disengage?

If the pedal has resistance then it probably just needs a new clutch, how many miles are on your car?

sounds like he rode the fawk out of the clutch, overheated it, and it came apart. its possible it could have a bent finger on the pressure plate, or a broken one

Yup... and you got nobody to blame but yourself bro. Your clutch is toasted. Next time don't let your dumb friends drive your BMW, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU'RE NOT IN IT

If you are lucky maybe you only lost the master or slave cylinder.....but if that were the case I would think the pedal would be soft.

I had this same type of situation happen to me when I downshifted from 5th to 3rd once. It turned out that the clutch fins were bent and all messed up.

Replaced the clutch and flywheel which fixed the issue.

Pwned, your friend beat the **** out of your car and left you with a toasted clutch.

Rule #1: Don't let anybody drive your car
Rule #2: If you have a manual transmission, definitely don't let anybody drive your car
