If your driveline rumbles on the highway, this could help!
By the way, thanks for everyone who tried to help me isolate a problem with my 325i. I had a nasty driveline vibration on-throttle above 60 mph.
Took it to a dealer as was told it was the torque converter. I say cool, as the used car I just bought was under a short term warranty and was covered. It cost the warranty company $2400.00 to replace. Picked up the car and found that the problem still existed, no different. Took it back to the same dealer and told them they mis-diagnosed the problem and to keep fishing. After a few calls from the dealer to the regional rep and what-not they seem to have solved the problem. I picked up the car to find out the problem seems to be gone. The fix was to install a BMW "after-thought" part. It was a heavy weight that attached to the differential case (i believe at the front near the driveshaft) to cancel out harmonic vibration. It is a non-moving part...damn, is that all it was? It appears that BMW has had this problem several times and had to figure it out after the fact. Where was "that" bulletin, could have saved alot people alot of headaches. ![]() Too bad for the warranty company, they are out $2400.00. No wonder extended warranties are so damn high!! Now I can finally enjoy my sweet ride. |

Interesting. I wonder if there's an SIB on this.

Hmm..wonder if that's part #5 here which i've heard of before for automatics.
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...85&hg=33&fg=05 or this part #14 that i've never paid attention to? http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...29&hg=26&fg=10
