What do I do for health insurance when I graduate college this December?

So the day the semester is over my health coverage terminates.

What are my options? What do you guys do? Can i just buy a monthly policy somewhere? I'm healthy, never had an issues, just need something in case i break a bone or something.

I'm asking because I might want to travel for a little while before finding a job, or might not get one for a lil while.

Didn't you just say you were on unemployment? Quit being a drain on society and get a job, I'm tired of my taxes going to non-deserving people collecting money.

yeah but there are a lot of deserving people too. it's my belief that this country was built on freedom, and that should include the freedom to be healthy without going into financial ruin.

i'm willing to pay the tax on my paycheck if, in the event that i lose my job, i'm covered too... and it's not even supposed to come to that, it's supposed to be paid for by taxing large corporations.

the OP has probably been working his tail off in college, and should have the freedom to travel a little bit without worrying about going into bankruptcy because of an accidental injury before starting his career, if he can even find a job.

you can get laid off too and sit home and collect money as well
just go spread some rumor on wallstreet that your company is going down hill and watch the company stock take a tumble and lay you off... then you can sit home, masturbate, watch movies all day, and collect money

imho if you can afford to drive and maintain a bimmer, you SHOULD be able to afford health insurance...
its just the principle, nah mean man?

its my right as an American to have the benefit and the opportunity to have a social safety net when sh!t goes sour that im covered a certain time frame for which i can find another job to replace my last

so technically yes, i am leeching. but in the current situation, who doesnt want to leech? do you really think im happy with my sh!tty ass government pay check? i'd rather work and earn 3-4 times as much but there just arent enough jobs in my preferred sector (obviously i dont want to flip burgers at burger king) to accommodate all the people who want to get into the sector.

yeah sure, if you were a lehman bankruptcy layoff with a ton of experience you can def get a job like *snap* but a recent grad with not enough experience is a b!tch to get into the same field these days unless one graduated from wharton or a tier 1

You are only willing to provide for yourself under the condition that the job is in your PREFERRED sector...so you collect money from taxpayers for your laziness.

Another person is busy working two jobs just to pay the mortgage and other essential living expenses, paycheck to paycheck. This person is a single mother with children and is incapable of providing health insurance for herself and her children.

You tell me which one of these examples deserves the help...

And yes, Wharton is tier 1

If that's the case then why do you say things like this:

"if it were to pass, we'll have to pay for so many non-deserving people so i'd rather just pay to play"

Some might call you non-deserving.

Got it, you don't like taking money from the government to cover you while you search for a new job. Fine. You must be one of those "deserving people" that gets to receive money from the tax payers unlike those people that would need government subsidies for health care.

What I'm trying to point out to you is that you sound EXTREMELY hypocritical right now.
