Thumbs Up The New HPF Stage 3 - There's a new Bad Boy in Town!!!

Want a daily driveable M3 with over 800rwhp and as little lag as a stock M3 with no turbo? We just hit pay dirt with a new dual ball bearing, water cooled, Precision Turbo with a smaller wheel (71 instead of 74) but one that utilizes the new billet wheel technology. In 4th gear this amazing turbo spools as fast as our stage 2.5 but the power just keeps on going all the way to over 800rwhp!!

There were several reasons to make this change, but the most important was to make our stage 3 M3's beat our stage 2.5 M3's which are EXTREMELY FAST from 60-130mph and beyond as we've seen from several of our stage 2.5 customers. The only way to do that was to improve the powerband by creating more area under the curve using a much faster spooling turbo while still retaining the big time power on the big end.

Results Achieved
  • Significantly more area under the horsepower curve creating a longer powerband in every gear
  • Boost achieved as fast as our stage 2.5 with a smaller Precision 67 series turbo.
  • Less boost lost in between shifts creating wicked fast shifting
  • Less tire shredding by providing a more manageable powerband and the ability to get in and out of the throttle without losing as much boost.
  • Increased torque at low rpms allowing each stage 3 M3 to get out of the hole fast!
We're super excited about these results and this turbo will now be standard for all new stage 3 customers. We can provide the new turbo and tune to existing stage 3 customers at a discount and we can help with buyers for your current 74 series turbos to help offset the costs. We still have a few days to finalize the tuning and create the pump gas maps, so this new turbo setup won't be released for another week or two.

Here's a video of the testing today...

Here are the dyno results

PUMP GAS + METHANOL

RACE FUEL ONLY

STAGE 3 vs Stage 2

Note the increased spool of the stage 3 over the stage 2...

Love it! I'd always thought stage 2.5 took the wind out of the sails of stage 3 -- nice to see you've responded to make stage 3 even better.

Always impressive work guys. I hope to join the HPF family in the future. On a side note did Chris say Jim Pak's car? Wasn't Jim's car the first HPF car and then he sold the kit later down the road?

I just played that video. Every guy in my office just came over to say, "What the hell was that yo?!" Sick. Absolutely sick. Outstanding engineering and testing.

Looking good! This is looking like it is going to be THE setup for street cars. Any way we can see the torque graph when you get the new tunes dialed in? In the straight race gas graph how much boost is being run? I know you have said that the stage 2.5 cars are out of fuel at about 15psi on race fuel only. Would be good to see what this turbo does at the same boost level for a good comparison. Are you thinking of testing some of the different new billet turbo's from Precision for the other stages?

Looks good, but isn't it just a slightly smaller wheel?

"The new HPF Stage 3"? All that was changed was the turbine.. This seems like more of a sales ploy than an actual ground breaking improvement.

I think you got the colors wrong. New turbi is making more power up to 80mph on these graphs and then they aer basically the same after that till that little spike at the end that gets the new turbo over 800
