All those crime scene tv shows....
Law and Order
CSI The Closer and etc.... anyone else get pissed off with these retarded shows? i'll see them ever so often and get aggravated when EVERY single episode goes in this order... -interesting beginning -decent plot -typical suspects -investigation -good evidence -interrogation -big misunderstanding -retarded blackmail story -obvious evidence found at JUST the right moment, aka coincidence -random person shows up with a very useful piece of evidence -truth comes out and the murderer confesses, motive is the most retarded thing possible -episode ends almost as bad as those "my sweet 16" and "parental control" shows...

The crazy thing is, big cities investigate crimes nothing like that. 99% of crimes are solved on informants. Not blood spatter experts and crazy super lab BS. Detroit operates at around a 35% clearance rate on murders, most big cities are around 50%. Meaning when someone is murdered, they find out who did it and charge them, then later convict them....and finally "clear" them. The suburbs have super high clearance rates, more than 90%.

I can't believe I'm gonna say this, but F2B is mostly right. Only 20% of all crimes are solved with physical evidence (dna, hairs, blood, etc) The national clearance rate for homicide is close to 75%

Most cities do not even have a forensics unit.

I actually like the older law and orders. While I agree that the new episodes aren't that good, but L&O is the only crime show that was actually written by somebody who was involved in the crime-solving process.

EVERYONE thinks that the tiniest of crimes are solved by all this stuff. Unless its murder theres no huge investigation with all that stuff. Even then its not the same. Theres no guy in a sick suit comin in a hummer to investigate. Theres nothing like the TV says. Most of the time for any other crimes theres no fingerprints.

The thing that bugs me the most is that they somehow seem to get a stable solution when implementing the backward heat equation and I can never replicate the results in real life

I love Law&Order. Hate all the other ones.
This is what pisses me off the most: |

I love how all the suspects confess, and that there is never a lawyer present during questioning.
Also hilarious that all crimes are solved the same day the crime occurs, and that they usually get the suspect because he still has blood, GSR or evidence on his clothes.... |

That's because Detroit IS a crime scene. If the residents there don't know how it works then nobody does.
