mine gets stuck, so i just give it a few hard kicks, or figure out a way to pry it off. i dont think theres a lock or anything holding it. probably just stuck real good.

might just be stuck to the hub...if you have a rubber mallet or sumthin just give it a few good hit on each side closest to the outer edge until it comes loose

^+1, just keep kicking the damn thing. one time i had to use steel toe boots, and i just roundhouse kicked that sh!t, and it popped right off. I did it to my m68s which i didnt care about, so maybe try something more gentle with your rims

put the lug bolts back in loosely and SLOWLY and GENTLY lower the car back down to put some weight on the wheel and it should break it free from the hub

Slight nudge works well for me and is safer then lowering the car back down on loose lug bolts.

It's stuck to the hub. Kick it. Face away from the wheel (your back to the car), brace yourself by putting your hands behind you and on the car, then give it a swift backwards kick.

would it not be wise to put the lug nuts back on lower the car and roll it forward and back..its as if the rim is welded to the damn hub

get a peice of 2X4 and a 10 pound hammer. put the 2x4 on the face of the rim near the edge and hit it with the hammer. work your way across the wheel in a criss cross pattern like you if you were torqueing the lug bolts. this normaly requires two people, one to hold and one to hit. theres some company that sell a very thin shim to put in between the rim and hub. i normaly wire bush the rust off and keep it in out of the rain to minimize rusting.

Ive had to put a floor jack in between the frame of the car and the rim before, no fun.

YES! you should always torque to spec. It will save you a lot of headache down the road.

Also maybe put a little WD40 on the hub and give it a good scrubbing with a wire brush to get some of the corrosion off, do the same for the bore of the actual wheel.

When you do eventually get it off, wire brush the hub contact points and put a very thin layer of grease on the face of the hub where the wheel contacts to prevent this from happening again.

I would recommend cleaning the hub area so that is free from any corrosion or rust that might have caused the wheel to seize on the hub.

If you were to bolt the wheels on without torquing them, it is unknown how many ft/lbs it is being tightened down to. The recommended BMW spec is 88 ft/lbs. This is definitely a huge safety hazard so I would recommend trying to source an accurate torque wrench when installing.
