Victim of flood in the Philippines

My BMW was a victim of flood in the last typoon that hit the Philippines. Water was about 1.5 feet and has leveled to the console box while parked in my garage. Water subsided after about 12 hours. 2 days after, it was towed to a BMW dealer in the country. The dealer wants to replace the following:
Alternator, gear shift assembly, steering angle sensor, 2 seat mechanism, air bag control unit, crash sensor, general module, 2 side mirror motor front passenger air bag. Need some inputs if these parts can really be damaged severely by water beyond repair.

do you have insurance, or is it not required in Philippines? If so call them up and get them to total your car.

If not, then most of those things mentioned will need replacing, electronics and water dont mix, when they do, it screws everything up big time. Why are they changing the gear shift assembly?

I agree. A car that has been flooded may present more and more problems in the future. Also, are you talking about storm surge (i.e. sea water) or just flooding (i.e. rain water)? If it's the prior I'd beg the insurance company to total it.
