Picture perfect maintenance?
I saw this on another forum. A 1994 Acura Legend owner who's put already 300,000 miles on his car and all maintenance on this car has been done at the dealership complete with records.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Pretty damn cheap if you ask me. What figures do you think a stock E46 or any BMW model for that matter would put up if all maintenance is done at the dealership for 300,000K miles? Last edited by M Shark; 11-13-2009 at 03:42 AM. |

Not including the swap I've spent nearly $7.5k on my car just in maintenance. Only things I haven't replaced: alternator, fuel pump and CPS. Literally everything else has been replaced
![]() That is mighty impressive though, if I had done everything through the dealer I'm sure it would have cost 2x as much.

he should have sold the car @ 148K and bought a new car. up until 148K he had only oil changes and regular inspections, after that the car became money pit.
this is what I've done on my car in 12K: 4 new tires - $700 brakes and rotors - $350 vanos seals - around $100 all together 2x oil change - $120 diff and transmission oil - not sure, let's say $60 wiper inserts - $11 for two sets broken pass mirror (my dumbness) - $350 ouch angel eyes - $160 front right turn signal (broken clip) - around $60 lost mirror cover - $20 (thanks to fellow fanatic) clips that I bought just in case - $20-30 paint for mirror cover - $60-70 few times burned out light bulb - $150 brighter fog light bulbs - $20 it totals around $1800 damn, I didn't even know until now!

It always cheaper to keep her. A new car would have depreciated by more than his total maintenance cost within 5 years. Plus he still would need to pay for maintenance.

Wouldn't a legend use non-synthetic oil? That's probably why it was changed so frequently.
