strut bar install
I'm trying to put on my strut bar, but I'm having a little trouble getting one of the brackets into the area where the battery terminal outlet is (the left side). I am supposed to jam it in there? or remove the battery outlet first?

Try moving the battery outlet to the side (towards the w/s) and wiggle the strut bar underneath..

Had the same problem installing my Strong-Strut. Only way to do it properly is to lift up the rubber seal behind the battery terminal, under which you'll find a plastic bracket (this secures the terminal). Holding this in place is a small plastic "grommet" which needs to be removed. After removal, simply lift up the whole bracket, place the top plate of your strut bar in position and bolt down. Then replace the plastic bracket and rubber seal. Job done!

+1. Nice to read from another person that has a Strong-Strut brace.

A little surprised that the Strong-Strut bar needs modification of the battery + terminal. My cheap Rotora strut bar has the cut-out on the left bracket and it fits perfectly.

It shouldn't. Mark's didn't need modification IIRC.

grommet
the "grommet" is circled in green -- it's not a torx screw, so I pull real hard with a screwdriver.. will it pop out and not break?

There is a "pin" to that part you circled, it's on the back. Pull the pin out from the back and that whole push pin will come out. Then the battery terminal will slide up and out.

When I bought mine, it came with instructions that specifically explained that the terminal needed to be moved to enable fitment.
