Winter beater experiment. Any chef in the house?
I would like to experiment with cooking oil as an alternative to engine oil.
Which of these is the least likely to break down inside a 4-cyl engine? 1. Canola 2. Olive oil 3. Vegetable 4. Sesame 5. Sunflower 6. Coconut |

assuming you're doing this on a diesel engine they should all work about as well as each other.

being that your name is fatbimmer id say vegetable oil because that it would be the healthiest choice
i would do some more research before you do something that would blow your engine.

A 70/30 blend of liquid gold and platinum is optimum for shear resistance.

Vegetable oils have a freezing temperature of roughly -10 C, so you might crack the engine block of your winter beater.
