Part 1 completed

After months of planning and chasing people down, you know who you are, part 1 of my audio/video install is complete.

The system currently consists of:

Pioneer AVM-P9000R audio/video master unit

Pioneer AVD-W6010 lcd screen

Pioneer 6 disc cd changer

Pioneer AVIC-90DVD dvd navigation/ dvd player

I have an 01 330i that came w/o the optional cd changer in the trunk. I had to purchase a new trunk liner to make it look OEM as I hate having stuff just hanging around the rear deck.

Also had to buy the following brackets to hold everything togheter.

Turns out the new cover doesnt line up correctly with my setup because the pioneer cd changer door opens on the opposite side as the BMW OEM.

Modified brackets:

With closed cover:

Now for the interior......

Bye Bye

I wont bore you with more pics of the install.

Here is the finshed look:

Many many many thanks to Rich from srcstc.com Without him this project would have never been completed. Rich youre the MAN ...

More to come soon

nice, did you just move the air conditioning controls down or did you have to buy the whole new piece for it to fit?

Everything is controlled with a remote, the nav has the option to be voice activated.

I am waiting for a "non rainy" day so I can take some pics of the screen. Is it ever going to stop raining in NY?

Till this minute this solution is the closest to OEM and since it uses Pioneer nav it doesn't have OEM weakneses. Very cool that you found it as soon as I'll gather more info about it I guess I'll be next

did you buy center console & brackets from trunk at dealership?

Sure did, but the brackets had to be modified otherwise the cd door would not align properly with the trunk liner.

big thanx for extra pix.... can you describe also radio / CD functions? Is it big pain in da a$$ to input locations into nav? Is there any graphic EQ for CD?

did you bought the LCD with trim from SRCSTC or it's just made by them but sold by someone else?
Do you have a part # for center console (to move AC control unit lower)

sorry for 2 many Qs but your project looks really kick a$$ and I guess I'll get it done too

That's beautiful
OK let me pull myself together! I PM'ed SRCSTC last week asking him about this type of set-up and you just answered all the questions I had for him. Have you played any DVD's on it yet? What's the quality like? I also apologize about the interrogation, but my wife is starting to understand my new mod bug and any and all info will greatly help my justification for needing this...I'm sure you understand!
