I have mine going to the bar where the heated seats are. I like it there because the orange ambient lighting is able to light it up just enough to see when it's dark so I can plug the cord in.
dont think you search hard enough, but anyway.. possible locations: glove box, by climate buttons, center console it really depends on you.. I have mine in the center console..
I considered a number of spots...glove box, HK/DSC button panel, etc. but finally settled on euro tray and ran the cable up thru the center console and to the back of the tray. i can completely conceal the ipod when not in the car and control it easily when i am.
This is the reason why I bought a euro tray. (Still waiting for fedex to deliver it) Should be able to finish this mod this weekend. I have a dice that is mounted under the glovebox/footwell area and an aux and ipod dock cable running through the passenger side panel of the center console. The aux will be routed inside the tray for when I want to use pandora on my phone. The hk/dsc panel area looks oem but with the cable it doesn't look clean. I don't like having cables around the shifter(even though my car is automatic.
i have mine in the ash tray i bough a 3.5 stereo plug from radioshack soldered a old headphone cable to it plugged in the original basically extending it and installed the 3.5 mm plug on the the little box in the ashtray under the whole on the left side
Can someone please show me their EURO tray setup? I want to see where you drilled the hole and there is like black cylinder thing on the side. What is that??
What else do you need? The euro tray is open in the back enough to fit cables through. Route the aux cable on the side of the center console trim, then you'll have access to it when you remove cupholders/euro tray. Pull the cable, then route it through the back of the euro tray. Snap the euro tray back, and you're all set. There's really nothing else to it. Just buy the damn thing and see for yourself. It's only $30. The hard part is routing the cable from the stereo or trunk to the console. Hiding it behind trims is tough on the fingers, but so worth it.
You'd still have a cable lingering. With the euro tray, the cable and mp3/phone is in the same area, with cable hidden inside. When back seat passenger wants control, just pull the cable and you should have enough length to reach the back. When it's just front passengers using it, cables can be pushed inside the tray.
im trying to run the cable back under the hand brake so that it reaches the euro tray but theres no opening. i cant find a hole to run the cable by the hand brake. help?
I tried for an hour before I removed the sunglass cubby right above it to make things a lot easier. I also used a piece on RO water line and pushed it up from the bottom then taped the aux end to the water line and pulled through. You will need to drill a 1/2" hole underneath the ashtray to accommodate the wire or at least with the oem aux cable.
