ryannel2003 My previous car, a Cadillac Seville, had the Northstar engine which was notorious for carbon build-up causing the exact noise you are describing. To cure this I would find an empty stretch of highway, get it up to 55MPH, drop it into 2nd gear and then floor it right before it downshifted to 3rd gear. Then I would let off the gas once it hit about 80MPH and let the car get back down to 55MPH again and repeat. This not only kept the motor free from carbon, it helped with oil consumption (another common issue with the motor). PHP Code:
