I was just going to use a damp cloth to clean the cross stitches on the M3 steering wheel but doesn't sound too effective. Anyone have any techniques to clean the cross stitches? the left side cross stitches on my wheel is noticably dirty than the right side.
The 303 Cleaner and Spot Remover is a great all purpose cleaner fo rvinyl, plastic, leather, fabrics and more. This will help get rid of the human oils that build up there. Another great cleaner that will clean the area and help condition it is the Leatherique Prestine Clean. The Prestine Clean will not only clean the area but also help restore the area so it stays soft and flexible but still durable. I love using this product two times a year on all my vinyl to really get it looking fresh and vibrant. Just wipe the product on with any towel/applicator, let it sit for 15 - 20 minutes, wipe it with a damp microfiber towel and then follow up with a dry towel to wipe up any remaining moisture. This is the same exact process that I use to clean leather/leatherette seats and it comes out amazing.
The dish soap will probably clean the surface but be careful using dishsoap because most of them have powerful stripping agents that are designed to cut through oils. Some oils are essential to the long term durability and flexibility of the wheel's surface.

i only use a very minute amount of dishsoap, just enough to clean the stitching on the wheel. I then follow up with a leather conditioner around the area.
