So after waiting forever (as you can see here), I finally pulled the trigger and bought some suspension mods.
I went with the KONI FSD's and Eibach PRO's
Nick over at JLEVI was of great help and sold me some quality product at a great price
Wasn't expecting such a HUGE box
But sure enough
The drop
The Ride
Also doing some Rogue components on this thanks to Mark and James over at Rogue Engineering. Am doing the Rogue Engineering RSM's and the Rogue Engineering Shims + M3 RTABs
Probably have all this on the car this coming week impin:
Little update on this. Since then the car has settled and sits even lower, maybe ".5 lower all around. It's really noticeable in the front. I also did the Powerflex FCABs. And I must say am fairly disapointed in those, I was loving how comfortable the ride felt. Once the poweflex bushings went in the comfort level went close to what it was on OEM shocks. So I'll most likely take those out when I do the turner swaybars. Now granted the powerflex bushings downgrade the comfort of the car, they do make a good difference on the handeling. So I'd say it's up to the owner on what they like more. I think once I do the sways I'll be set handeling wise but who knows, lol. I'll post pics of the car settled in once it stops raining!
Ok, so to kind of update my setup, my new swaybars from TMS came in and they will be going on the car soon. Am also taking out my Powerflex FCABs and going with Meyle HD ones, picking those up tomorrow. Hoping the new setup will be on the car next week or so. I also have some more recent pics of the car I need to post up since they setup has also set in a good bit now
Very Nice Thread! New York killed my suspension. Now I'm in TX so I'm gonna go with this same set-up. Your last post was March. Is everything still good? How is your ride quality with the Meyle HD's? Also what type of bulbs do u have in your foglights and where did u get them. Tanks, and Again Great Post!!!
that looks great, appreciate all the time you spent in going over the details... very few threads have nearly as much info.
i'm actually switching soon from my coil-over setup to the same spring/shock pairing you have. since san diego is broke and nearly bankrupt, the roads are as bad as bagdad, and it's just destroying my car.
Im going to be getting the Koni FSD's and want to know if there are two versions avalible for the e46(sport & non-sport)?
Also could anybody recommend springs other than the Eibachs the OP used that will not go much lower or any lower then stock ZHP ride height. Basically similar performing without going too low?
The entrance/exit way to the underground parking garage in my apartment complex causes me to scrape the midpoint of mein auto. With a full tank and a passenger im almost possitive I would get hung up. So since I cant stretch my wheelbase I need to find a set of springs that dont drop as much as the Eibachs.
Rooz,
Did your Koni FSD kit come with the bump stops and dust covers also? From your pictures, the black tube on your rear shocks looks like the dust covers, and i'm assuming the bump stops are connected at the end of it?
Just wondering what other Mounting parts/accessories I need for the job.
i see the rogue rsm's.... good man, doing it right
